Almost every recording has a beginning nobody needs: two minutes of people arriving, the microphone being adjusted, the «can you hear me?». And usually an end just as useless. Cutting that off isn't editing — it's the thing you do before doing anything else with the file, and it shouldn't require installing an audio editor.
This one doesn't re-encode: it copies the piece you marked, byte for byte, into a new file of the same format. That means two things. It's instant, even on a two-hour recording, because there's nothing to compute. And it's lossless — the cut piece sounds exactly like it did inside the original, which is not true of a trimmer that decodes and re-encodes on the way through.
